Solar power boosted as new loan program grows

Let’s see, we have a nation choking on debt, and what do we do?  How about launder ever more debt through municipal guarantees to home owners.  A choice excerpt from the article:

Yet [solar] still generates less than 1% of the nation’s electricity. Why? Because a typical residential system’s $25,000 price tag is a huge hurdle for most homeowners.

Right, so because the product will never pay for itself, the product is failing.  Sounds like the market is working?  Nah, let’s loan people money we don’t have so they can destroy capital by putting money losing, but emotionally gratifying solar panels on their roofs.  

If only governments had maybe a one hour course on capital budgeting.
